Victor Scott II, the dynamic center fielder for the St. Louis Cardinals, is our inaugural Goal Getter. He grew up in Powder Springs, a suburb outside of Atlanta, GA. He is known for his elite speed, a gift he can credit to his parents Victor and Mary Scott, who were track athletes at Morris Brown College, an Atlanta-area HBCU. His father is in the Morris Brown Hall of Fame.
Victor attended McEachern High School where he played baseball and basketball and was in the Beta Club. In 2019 he graduated from high school and went to West Virginia University (WV). In 2022 Victor set WV’s single-season stolen base record (38), earning him 6th place on the NCAA Division 1 stolen base leader board. He also was a three-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree and majored in Kinesiology and Physical Education.
In 2022 Victor was drafted in the 5th round by the St. Louis Cardinals. During his two years in the minor leagues he appeared in the 2023 All-Star Futures Game after stealing 94 bases (tied for 1st in the MiLB that year) and getting 166 hits (2nd in MiLB). He also won a MiLB Gold Glove.
Victor made his MLB debut on March 28, 2024. In 2025 he finished the season as a finalist for a National League Gold Glove.
From childhood until now Victor has been setting stretch goals and getting stretch goals. Walk through his path in this video slideshow then check out our WW Goal Getters interview to hear from Victor about how being young and hungry for success – “yungry” – has powered his Winners mindset.
